About the Multi-Line Chart
A multi-line chart overlays two or more line series on the same axes, allowing direct visual comparison of trends over time. It works well for 2–5 series with distinct patterns.
When series overlap heavily or there are more than 5 lines, consider small multiples (separate mini charts per series) instead. Direct labeling at line ends eliminates the need for a legend and speeds up reading.
